Given that homo sapiens is a social animal and that we are the only species incapable of surviving without tools, our tools (technology) is, more than anything else, what makes us humans.
And because biological evolution is order of magnitudes slower than social and technological evolution, we remain, even in the digital age, biologically designed to be hunter-gatherers.
